Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Trailer Features Gaming Icons From Sonic To Q-Bert. It’s Like a Party and Your Childhood was Invited.
Due in theaters Nov. 2, Wreck-It Ralph tells the story of a videogame villain (voiced by John C. Reilly) who’s tired of always playing second fiddle to the hero, Fix-It Felix (voiced by Jack McBrayer). To prove he can be a hero too, he abandons his classic ’80s game, Fix-it Felix Jr., and visits others to test his mettle.
Along the way, he meets characters like Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch) from the shooter Hero’s Duty and Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) from Sugar Rush, cute as a button.

Think of the Paperwork!
Never mind the fluidity of the animation or how perfect John C. Reilly sounds as Ralph, imagine for a second the late-night phone calls and the email threads that went into licensing all those characters from classic games! Q-Bert, Bowser, Zangief — and did you see Sonic the Hedgehog in there? It’s a licensing nightmare!

Everyone knows M. Bison don’t come cheap.
But of all the great and classic game characters included in the movie — Disney even made an ’80s-style Wreck-It Ralph game! — it’s hard not to notice two missing plumbers…
Mario No No
There are different stories floating around about what happened between Nintendo and Disney, but either way, the upshot is that Mario and Luigi — perhaps the most iconic game characters of all time — aren’t in the movie. At Comic-Con, director Rich Moore explained the situation as being about — what else? — money:
Whatever the situation, while it’s a bummer nobody will be around to put Bowser in his place, Wreck-it Ralph still looks like an absolute blast and we can’t wait to see it and see who else shows up!
Don’t miss Wreck-it Ralph when it hits theaters on November 2!
